The countdown to Dubai Expo 2020 has begun and with a tingle of anticipation, a large number of people are waiting the years out in the hope of becoming a part of the main event. To satiate the curiosity of the multitude to some extent, Dubai has revealed Expo 2020 master plan that has been displayed at the two-day Arab Media Forum which began on May 10 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. With this, the masses have been provided the chance to catch a glimpse of one of the best innovative development projects to be undertaken in the UAE.
Recently, when visitors flocked to the 15th edition of the forum, they became the lucky few to get a feel of how the Expo 2020 would look like. Once it takes a final shape, the Expo 2020 venue will become a live example of modern age development par excellence.
By showcasing the development masterpiece, Dubai Expo 2020 has remained true to its philosophy of leaving behind a legacy of innovation and awe-inspiring developments.
The Arab Media Forum will also provide a platform for showcasing the winning designs of the Expo Theme Pavilions which will be inspired from the motto ‘Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability’.
The forum, held under the theme ‘Media for Good’, has evolved into the largest regional event of its kind. This event brings together prominent media personalities, journalists and intellectuals from the Middle East and beyond under one roof.
UAE Minister of State for International Co-operation Reem al Hashimy said on the occasion, “We at Expo 2020 Dubai strive to deliver a comprehensive and inclusive experience, which began the moment the bid was won and will continue long after the Expo closes in 2021, living through its legacy.”
According to the state minister, the Expo 2020 master plan has done complete justice to the theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
The Expo 2020 master plan is designed with the intention to benefit all by providing them with personalized experience that includes special attractions, services and provisions and easy on the eye designs that come together to ensure the comfort of visitors.
The Expo 2020 site will spread over two-square kilometres around the Al Wasl meeting plaza, which is considered the heart of the mega-event. Three distinct Theme Districts will branch out of Al Wasl, with each individual district having its own Theme Pavilion.
Expo 2020 Vice President (Real Estate) Ahmed Al Khatib said the venue design would surely provide a memorable experience for visitors and help them discover many new things during their visit.
Expo 2020 Dubai recently announced that its three Theme Pavilions would be designed by renowned global architecture firms. The Opportunity Pavilion is being designed by BIG (Bjake Ingels Group), the Mobility Pavilion by Foster+Partners and the Sustainability Pavilion by Grimshaw Architects.
Meanwhile, the UAE Pavilion, which is inspired by a falcon, is perfect representation of the values and principles that helped the gulf nation to make a mark on the world map. It is also a reflection of the Expo 2020 Dubai theme of inclusion, connection and tolerance.
