Dubai’s latest creekside destination is fast taking shape with new apartments ready for handover by the end of the year. Culture Village, which adjoins Al Garhoud Bridge and Business Bay Crossing, will be an attraction for art, culture and entertainment, according to developer Dubai Properties (DP).
”Culture Village will be a destination of art, culture and entertainment for the whole family,” says Masood Al Awar, Chief Officer — Commercial at DP, which is spearheading development work on the master development with Dh1.5 billion being poured on various projects. ”An art centre and museum are planned to come soon.”
Already home to Palazzo Versace Dubai Hotel and D1 residential tower, the community will get busier with newly completed projects to be handed over in phases in the next several months. Some 98 apartments and retail units at Manazel Al Khor, a low-rise luxury mixeduse development, will be handed over in the fourth quarter, while Dubai Wharf, a 582-apartment four-tower mixed-use development, will start delivering units in the first quarter next year.
Both projects are being developed by DP, along with Anantara Dubai Creek Hotel, which is scheduled to open in mid-2019. DP is also constructing a marina located close to the Versace hotel, which will be completed within the year.
Abdulla Abushabib, Senior Executive Director of Customer Care and Government Relations at DP, says several third-party developers have already started construction. ”This is very positive,” he says.
He adds: ”Dubai Properties is leading the investment within [Culture Village] with our own projects—Manazel Al Khor, Anantara and Dubai Wharf. We have also received a number of projects for design approval.”
Road infrastructure has been completed, while a new bridge parallel to the Dubai Metro will connect the community to Healthcare City. There are also plans of connecting Culture Village to Dubai Festival City across the creek.
Al Awar says Manazel Al Khor is now more than 80 per cent complete, while construction on Dubai Wharf is half way through. Towers 1, 2 and 3 of Dubai Wharf will be delivered in the first quarter, while Tower 4 will be handed over in the fourth quarter next year. When complete, Dubai Wharf will feature shops and restaurants in the first two levels, a promenade and water taxi stations. There will also be six bridges that will connect the promenade to other projects in the master development. House prices start at Dh1.4 million at Dubai Wharf and Dh2.2 million at the luxury-themed Manazel Al Khor.
